Doordash has added a new hourly payment model for drivers
Doordash is planning on implementing various new features to improve the pay and working standards of Doordash drivers. The company will add a new payment model for workers, which pays them hourly. This model pays drivers a prorated hourly minimum wage and will include tips. The old payment model pays workers per delivery, and this previous system did not account for traffic and other circumstances that cause deliveries to take longer than expected. Drivers have the option to choose either payment model, to offer flexibility to workers. The tipping model will also be expanded, and it will allow customers to increase or add a tip to a delivery up to 30 days after. Doordash has also developed a new feature called “Dash Along the Way”, that shows drivers possible deliveries that they can pick up along their route.
