Non-unionized UPS workers trained to temporarily continue delivery services in the event of Teamsters strike
Contract negotiations between UPS and the Teamsters union have stalled, increasing the possibility that unionized UPS workers will go on strike. The Teamsters union represents over half of UPS employees, and the union will strike if an agreement is not reached before the end of July. UPS is implementing a plan to train non-unionized employees to step in if the union goes on strike. UPS states that it provides an essential service to many Americans, and they are taking steps to ensure that packages still get delivered in the event of a strike. Many businesses that rely on UPS for their operations are searching for alternative delivery methods, as they fear that delays and stoppages will occur due to the strike.
