American Airlines flight attendants to vote on authorizing strike action
The Association of Professional Flight Attendants union that represents American Airlines flight attendants have approved of holding a vote determining if strike action should be taken. Voting will occur starting in late July until late August. Flight attendants have not received pay increases in the past couple of years, and they are demanding pay raises that match the increase in living costs. Flight attendants are also demanding increased employee benefits and a guaranteed number of paid hours per month. If the vote passes, both American Airlines flight attendants and American Airlines pilots are authorized to strike, as pilots passed a strike authorization vote in April.
