Union claims against Howard Brown Health have merit, according to National Labor Relations Board ruling
The National Labor Relations Board has evaluated claims against Howard Brown Health that stated the healthcare center allegedly engaged in bad faith bargaining and prevented bargaining regarding layoffs. The layoffs that occurred earlier this year affected 61 union employees, and 4 nonunion employees. Howard Brown Health claimed the layoffs were made due to financial challenges, however, employees stated that there is no evidence of the financial issues. The union believes that the main motivator behind the layoffs is retaliation against union action. The National Labor Relations Board ruled that the claims have partial merit or full merit, and will work on reaching a settlement between the union and Howard Brown Health.
