UPS workers will no longer strike after Teamsters and UPS reach an agreement
The United Parcel Service and the Teamsters union have reached an agreement, and strike action from UPS workers has been called off. The planned strike would be one of the largest strikes in American history and was predicted to cause billions of dollars of lost revenue and disruptions to millions of package deliveries. UPS and Teamsters agreed on a tentative five-year contract that will raise wages for full-time and part-time employees, and part-time employees will make a minimum wage of $21/hour. Current employees will receive a wage increase of $2.75/hour this year, and a wage increase of $7.50/hour spread out over the course of the contract. The contract also includes measures that improve worker safety and employee benefits.
