Yellowstone National Park Service workers successfully unionize
Over the past few years, park service workers at Yellowstone National Park have begun organizing union drives as dissatisfaction among rangers and park employees grows. Employees state that their workload has been increasing as more and more individuals are visiting Yellowstone National Park, but their salaries have stayed low. Yellowstone staff members successfully voted to form a union last week and will be represented by the National Federation of Federal Employees union. The National Federation of Federal Employees union represents other unionized National Park Service workers, US Forest Service employees, and many federal wildland firefighters. The unionization of Yellowstone employees allows the union to lobby Congress for greater employee benefits and increases in pay to match the rise in the cost of living.
