College students in China are struggling to find jobs after graduation
A record number of recent college graduates in China are entering the Chinese workforce, while the number of open positions remains low. The unemployment rate for 16 to 24-year-olds in China has significantly increased and was at 21.3% in June. Chinese lawmakers are calling for greater job placement guidance for students in colleges and universities. School administrators are being encouraged to visit companies and find open opportunities for graduating students. The significant growth of the Chinese economy in the recent past has led to large increases in enrollment at colleges and universities, and the graduating class this year will be the biggest in Chinese history. The Chinese economy is no longer quickly growing, and the shortage of jobs for new graduates could lead to various societal problems.
