American Airlines will be affected by strike action from flight attendants if contract negotiations do not progress
American Airlines flight attendants have declared that they will pursue strike action if a contract agreement is not reached soon. Flight attendants at the airline are represented by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, and the union represents over 26,000 airline crew. Unionized members voted in approval of strike action, and flight attendants have already demonstrated outside of 12 major airports over this issue. If a new contract is not reached in the coming weeks, American Airlines operations will be greatly disrupted and shut down around the country. Without flight attendants on board the plane, the plane cannot legally carry passengers, and hundreds of planes will be completely empty besides for pilots.
