Hospitality workers in Las Vegas are concerned about the growing use of new technology and AI
The use of technology and AI in Las Vegas is steadily increasing, and robots and new technology can be found in hotels, restaurants, and bars around the city. Various processes have become automated, which has led to various jobs becoming obsolete as these positions can be replaced by more cost-efficient methods. A study found that 38%-65% of all jobs in Las Vegas could be replaced by automation throughout the next ten years. Researchers have stated that the Las Vegas economy will need to diversify and expand beyond the hospitality industry in order to maintain jobs in the city. Various unions in Las Vegas have spoken out about the increasing use of automation, and they will be demanding AI protections during contract negotiations later this year.
