Philadelphia coffee company Good Karma will no longer have union representation after employee vote
A coffee company in Philadelphia named Good Karma has voted to remove union representation. Good Karma workers voted last year in support of unionization and were represented by the Workers United Philadelphia Joint Board. There was no significant process made in union contract negotiations, and this is a potential reason that workers were in favor of decertification. Before unionizing, there were four Good Karma stores in Philadelphia, and two stores permanently closed after the vote. Good Karma has two locations remaining, and the eighteen employees voted regarding union representation, with a slim majority of workers in favor of no more representation, and the National Relations Labor Board oversaw the vote.
