Hundreds of workers at LinkedIn will be laid off
LinkedIn has announced a second round of layoffs this year after previous layoffs occurred in May. This new round of job cuts will affect 668 workers, and these workers are in the company’s finance, human resources, product, and engineering divisions. LinkedIn cited changes to the company’s structure and adjustments in decision-making as the reasons for the layoffs. The layoffs come as LinkedIn has witnessed steady growth in membership signups and company revenue. The company states that predictions for the future show slowed revenue growth in the future, and the job cuts are a precautionary measure. LinkedIn is a Microsoft-owned company, and throughout the past year, Microsoft has made significant cuts to its workforce in all departments.
