Accident at Mississippi poultry plant leads to teenage worker’s death, investigation reveals plant did not follow safety protocols
The United States Department of Labor conducted a federal investigation regarding a poultry plant in Mississippi after a teenage worker died during his shift earlier this year. The investigation found that the plant did not follow all the safety protocols, and this led to the worker’s death. The investigation also revealed that the worker’s death was preventable, but due to the lack of implementation of safety protocols led to the accident. The teen worker was cleaning the machine, and the machine was still on while he was cleaning and pulled him in, resulting in his death. An employee at the same plant lost one of their limbs a few years earlier, and the plant has also received multiple safety violations.
