Governor and State Employee Bargaining Agents Coalition in Connecticut reach tentative contract agreement
A tentative contract agreement between the governor of Connecticut and Connecticut’s State Employee Bargaining Agents Coalition will provide all public sector employees with a 2.5% wage increase. The tentative deal was reached last week, and the deal covers a majority of the state’s public workforce, which consists of almost forty-five thousand workers. The contract will also provide non-senior level workers with a step increase in pay on January 1st, 2025. The step increase will raise worker pay by 2%. Divisions that are not covered under the step increase will instead receive significant supplemental funding. The agreement is predicted to ensure high retention rates of public employees. The State Employee Bargaining Agents Coalition stated that the state has bargained in good faith and has met many of the proposed demands, but the coalition is still seeking measures to help with decreasing recruitment and retention rates at worksites.
