Germany hit with another round of strikes from Deutsche Bahn train drivers
Train drivers in Germany intend to participate in strike action this week, and the strike will be the sixth work stoppage in the past months. Deutsche Bahn, a major rail operator in Germany, has filed a lawsuit against the GDL union. The GDL union represents train drivers and other operations-related rail workers, and forty thousand workers are represented by the union. Worker strikes significantly disrupt transportation in Germany and negatively affect travelers and the supply of certain goods. The lawsuit claims that workers have gone on strike a disproportionate number of times, and the union did not give enough notice regarding strike action. Another major issue that Deutsche Bahn is dealing with is the rail operator is over thirty billion euros in debt.
