Over a hundred teachers in Anaheim, California will be laid off at the end of the school year
Various teachers in Southern California working in the Anaheim Union School District will lose their jobs due to upcoming layoffs. The superintendent announced the news this week and stated the decision is due to decreases in student enrollment and increasing financial pressures. The decision was made by the Board of Trustees, and the superintendent claims that no specific teachers were targeted in the layoffs. It is estimated that 110 teachers will be laid off, but 195 teachers were personally notified of the decision. Numerous parents have expressed opposition and concern to the decision, stating that current class sizes are already too large, and large class sizes reduce the quality of education students receive.
