Tentative agreement reached between Boston Omni hotels and unionized employees
Workers at Omni hotels in Boston return to work this week after a tentative contract agreement was reached between Omni hotel management and the UNITE HERE Union. The UNITE HERE Union represents over six hundred employees at two Omni locations: Boston Seaport and Parker House. Workers took strike action starting on October 14th, demanding wage increases to match the rise in the cost of living in Boston. The union and hotel management have been in contract negotiations since April and reached an agreement on Sunday. The tentative contract will increase hourly employee wages by ten dollars over four years, provide greater employee benefits, and increase job security. The UNITE HERE Union also represents Hilton hotel workers in Boston, and Hilton employees are still on strike as an agreement has not been reached yet.
