Italy moves to safeguard fashion sector reputation after labour scandals
Following a string of labor abuse scandals in high-end fashion, Italian officials are working to restore confidence in the “Made in Italy” label. The government plans to introduce a certification system that would verify companies' compliance with labor and sustainability standards. This response comes after Loro Piana, a luxury brand owned by LVMH, was placed under court supervision due to alleged supplier exploitation. Similar cases have recently involved brands like Valentino and Dior.
