UAW president Shawn Fain to rally with GE Aerospace workers as strike looms
More than 600 GE Aerospace workers in Ohio and Kentucky could strike this week as their contract nears expiration. United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain joined members of Local 647 in Cincinnati on Tuesday for a rally ahead of the deadline. The local union recently voted by a wide margin to authorize a strike, citing stalled negotiations. GE Aerospace says talks are ongoing and points to recent agreements it reached with other unions, but workers say they are prepared to walk out if no deal is reached.
