246,000 Ill., Mo. workers to lose benefits
A new report released by the National Employment Law project, the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Hal in ten Campaign forecasts that without extending the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, millions of workers will be left unemployed and without benefits. The reports projects that 1 million workers will have no benefits in January and that the number will rise to 3 million by March if the Act is not extended. California, Florida, New York and Texas are projected to have the highest number of workers without unemployment benefits if nothing is done.
