2nd Firm Leaves Group Supporting Private Accounts
Waddell & Reed, a financial services company, has withdrawn from a business organization supporting President Bush's private Social Security accounts after threats of picketing by the AFL-CIO. The AFL-CIO plans similar actions toward other companies that support Bush?s proposal. This is bad news for the Bush administration which is relying heavily on the support of business groups for private accounts.
