4 workers sue Conn. agency, claim discrimination
Alleging discrimination against minority workers, four African American employees of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families have filed a suit against the agency. The employees say that minority workers have been targeted in disciplinary actions and are promoted less than white workers. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit say that they hope that the lawsuit will change some of the practices of the agency in the future. A spokesman for the agency said that the cannot comment on the lawsuit, but that 45% of the agency's staff are minorities. The lawsuit says that the majority of the minority workers are in lower level jobs, and that they are passed over for promotions. The agency was served Friday.
