Sanitation workers in Atlanta who staged a day-long strike last week have reached a tentative labor agreement with their employer. With help from Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service mediators, Teamsters Local 728 and Republic Services Atlanta have reached a historic deal, according to the employer, which gives members a substantial pay increase and job security protections. Drivers, helpers, mechanics, and dispatchers will vote to ratify the agreement on August 25.
