$5 here, $37 there: Americans' indulgences add up
A survey of American spending habits found that workers spend over a $1000 a year on coffee, and $2000 on lunch. The survey found that men and younger workers spent more than women and old workers. Workers spend an average of $37 per week for lunch, and workers between 18-34 spend $25 a week on coffee. However, workers said that better chairs and computers were more important than better food or coffee.
