Staff vacancies on the decline in Minnesota hospitals
Job vacancies in Minnesota hospitals are starting to decrease, making hospitals hopeful that they will recover from the significant loss of workers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the number of job vacancies is still much higher than pre-pandemic levels. Hospitals are implementing various strategies to improve recruitment as well as retention. Free training programs and loan forgiveness are being offered to students who are planning on becoming future healthcare workers. Hospitals have increased job flexibility and improved hospital technology to accommodate workers better.
