9% of NYC workers remain unvaccinated past the mandate’s deadline
As the New York City workers vaccine mandate deadline loomed, workers across the city were protesting and scrambling to get at least one dose to avoid being placed on unpaid leave. With firefighters and police officers prominent in protesting crowds at City Hall and the residence of New York City's mayor, city officials worried about staffing shortages to come today. Although only 9% of the whole municipal workforce was vaccinated after Friday's deadline, the number of workers with at least one dose has steadily climbed over the weekend.
