A majority of U.S. workers are now making at least $15 an hour
Recent reports reveal that the average pay for restaurant or supermarket workers has surpassed $15 an hour. Up from 60% of workers in 2014, now almost 80% of U.S. workers are making at least $15 an hour. Experts say this new wage increase is likely to be permanent and that while inflation “[rains] a little bit on the parade,” it will fade, and high wages will remain.
