Activist Posts Anti - Wal - Mart Ad Online
A leading critic of Wal-Mart has launched an Internet ad campaign that alleges the world's largest retailer is morally corrupt in how it treats its 1.3 million U.S. employees. The ad escalates an increasingly bitter battle between Wal-Mart and critics led by labor and other activist groups. The organizations accuse Wal-Mart of underpaying workers, denying them affordable health insurance and damaging communities, while the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer maintains that its low prices are good for consumers and the economy.
