Actors? Equity Pushes for Minimum Wage, but Not All Members Want It
People who work in small theaters in Los Angeles are sometimes only paid a stipend of $7 a show. Workers, many of which are unionized, are demanding that their wages be increased to the city's minimum of $9 an hour. Some of the actors argue that these increased wages will make these small theaters unprofitable and will drive them out of business. 66% of the workers represented by the union Equity, voted to not push for a wage increase.
