Actors Inch Closer to a Strike Vote
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) might be nearing a strike after the union's negotiating committee requested a strike authorization vote from the union's board. 75% of the union's 120,000 membership would need to approve the action, but negotiators believe a strike might be necessary in the attempt to secure better terms from the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The alliance has reached agreements with other unions already, making bargaining much more difficult for SAG. SAG members have been working for 3 months without a contract.
