Adidas settles with Indonesian workers over PT Kizone
On Wednesday, Adidas announced that it had reached an agreement with Indonesian garment workers. The workers were left without mandated severance pay two years ago when the factory owner left the country. Adidas, one of the brands that was producing in the factory, had said that they had no responsibility to the workers. Workers' rights groups pressured the company to pay the workers, including United Students Against Sweatshops groups across the country who persuaded their universities to cut licensing contracts with Adidas. The settlement terms are private, but the workers had been asking Adidas to pay $1.8 million in severance.
