Afghan Jobs Program Aims to Stem Exodus of Young
In Afghanistan, hundreds of thousands of young citizens have been leaving the country to find employment in Europe. During the NATO combat mission, 140,000 citizens were employed as troops. Now, NATO troop numbers have fallen to 17,000. This year alone, approximately 146,000 citizens of Afghanistan have migrated to Europe. The President, Ashraf Ghani is launching a new program that will cost $100 million and will bring food security to as many as 100,000 families across 12 provinces.
