After extensive industrial actions, rail workers in Sydney, Australia win higher pay increases than government's previous pay offer
A wage dispute between rail workers in Sydney, Australia and the government has finally been resolved after the Fair Work Commission released its decision recently. There had been a series of prolonged industrial actions by the rail workers who disagreed with the pay increase offers by the government. As a result of the commission's decision, workers will receive an additional increase to their pay on top of the existing pay offer from the government as well as a one-time payment. This pay policy will total to be much higher than the Australian government intended wage cap.
