After Half-Decade Struggle, Rite Aid Workers Form Union at Giant Distribution Center
After five years, workers at a Rite Aid distribution center signed a three-year contract with the company. The contract includes health insurance, job security, working condition changes, a dispute resolution process and wage increases for the next three years. Workers said that they were happy about the agreement, even with the amount of time it took to get it. The union says that the company made the process much more difficult than it needed to be, but that they were happy to finally have a settlement. The contract still has to be ratified by members.
