Agency Details Racial Tensions at Lockheed Site of 6 Slayings
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission found that Lockheed Martin Corp. was aware of a racially hostile environment at their Meridian, Miss. Location but failed to stop it. On July 8, 2003 the racial tensions led to the shooting of 14 individuals by a white worker. A spokesman for Lockheed Martin said that the company disagreed with the EEOC's finding but was unable to comment further because of pending litigation.
