Air India Workers Strike
Days after a crash that killed 158 people, Air India employees have gone on indefinite strike. The strike is protesting the order that prevents employees from speaking publicly about the carrier's problems, as well as demands for back wages. The unions striking represent more than 12,000 employees of Air India. However, an official for Air India said only about 500 workers were striking, and that the disruption was minimal. Officials at airports say that smaller airports were more affected, but that there were several hour delays on Air India flights into and out of New Delhi. Air India is dealing with heavy losses and a restructuring that is causing problems for the airline.
