Airbnb's 'Live and Work Anywhere' policy has embraced remote work, leading to productivity gains for the company and greater worker satisfaction
Last year, Airbnb began its Live and Work Anywhere policy which has granted employees with maximum flexibility by allowing them to work remotely from any location and keep their same salary. While other companies have been pushing for workers to return to the office, this model demonstrates an embracing of remote work and has been very productive for the company. Through this flexible program, Airbnb has been able to better seek out and retain top talent, as well as reach its inclusion goals of hiring more women and underrepresented minorities. As a result, Airbnb is speaking with governments all over the globe to make it easier for all people to move around with their work. However, there is also a business motive behind Airbnb's policy because if more companies were to have this work flexibility it would likely increase the potential Airbnb guests and hosts.
