Airport operation workers at London’s Gatwick Airport plan to strike later this summer
Airport workers at Gatwick Airport in London are planning to strike for eight days in late July and early August to protest current wages. The striking workers will be baggage handlers and airport check-in workers, who have essential roles in airport operations. Gatwick Airport states that airport contingency plans will be enforced to allow airport operations to continue and to minimize disruptions. Strikes from airport operation workers and other issues with air traffic control could impact thousands of flights this summer, and it is predicted that British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair will be the main airlines affected.
