Along picket lines, rising acrimony
The Verizon workers' strike has turned especially ugly, as managers claim to be in fear for they cross picket lines, running a gauntlet of escalating threats of violence. In some cases, managers claim that workers have followed their cars and tried to run them off the road. Verizon won a temporary restraining order to keep striking employees from using their cars to harass managers, and the company is seeking a further injunction that will limit the number of workers picketing at each business site, and mandate they remain a minimum of 100 feet from Verizon cars and trucks.
