Amazon case is dismissed, allowing NY’s attorney general to probe their COVID-19 safety measures
A federal judge dismissed Amazon’s lawsuit to stop New York’s attorney general from investigating their safety response to COVID-19 in their warehouses. The attorney general sued Amazon in February claiming that the company was not appropriately protecting its warehouse workers from COVID-19 in Staten Island and Queens and for disciplining 2 workers who protested the working conditions. The judge ruled that “the state has a legitimate interest in ensuring that employers are complying with state labor laws.”
