Two divisions in Amazon Health Services will be affected by upcoming layoffs. Employees working at Amazon Pharmacy and One Medical will be impacted by the job cuts, and these workers will be provided with severance packages as well as outplacement services. Workers will also have the opportunity to apply to other roles at Amazon. The company stated that the layoffs are due to the reorganization of resource allocation, and the changes increase efficiency and will benefit consumers. Amazon has conducted several rounds of layoffs over the past year, and 27,000 employees from various divisions and subsidies of the company have been let go. Amazon has continued to lay off workers in 2024, and employees working in the Audible, Twitch, Prime Video, and MGM Studios divisions have been affected by job cuts in January.
