Amazon Labor Union accuses Amazon of violating U.S. labor law
The Amazon Labor Union filed an unfair labor practice charge on Thursday against Amazon after an Amazon organizer’s arrest on Wednesday. The union claims that Amazon violated the settlement reached with the NLRB in December wherein they agreed “not to limit workers’ ability to engage with their colleagues in non-work areas during non-work time.” An Amazon spokesperson said, “the settlement pertains to the rights of employees to solicit on company property, and we did nothing to stop employees from soliciting.”
