Amazon to end on-site employee COVID-19 testing program
Amazon has notified employees that they will no longer be offering on-site COVID-19 testing after July 30th. They cite wide availability of testing and vaccines as the reason they will stop. The company said they can resume the testing program if it becomes needed but did not say whether they would provide workers with time off to get tested. Earlier this year they offered frontline employees $40 per vaccine dose they received to compensate them for the time spent getting vaccinated off-site and since March are offering on-site vaccinations at select locations.
