A day after American opened negotiations with its flight attendants and ground workers, news of United Airlines' attempt to use bankruptcy to minimize labor costs is adding pressure to the negotiations. Representatives of the Allied Pilots Association at American believe that the cuts United is seeking are not much deeper than what American is already asking for in negotiations with its unions.
