American Airlines is offering massive bonuses for workers during the holidays
The Allied Pilots Association's board of directors has voted no to American Airlines’ offer of as much as double pay for working trips around the holidays. The labor union is in the middle of contract negotiations with the airline and a spokesman for the union said that the extra pay was “lazy and a clear admission you mismanaged the airline.” The company says they are disappointed by this vote since they have holiday pay programs in place for all other frontline groups at the company. In an effort to not repeat disruptions around the holidays, the company is offering bonuses for perfect attendance, to triple pay for trips during peak days, and a general $1,000 holiday bonus.
