American Airlines pilots ratify union contract
American Airlines' pilots ratified a new contract on Friday. The contract includes pay increases and a 13.5% stake in the company, as well as allowing more outsourcing of regional flights. The union said that the contract gives them influence over the restructuring of the airline, including a possible merger with US Airways. The pilots are the last union to reach an agreement with the airline, and the company said that they were happy to have reached an agreement. The two sides have been negotiating a new contract since 2006.
