The co-owner of a Florida-based medical supply company says he has been held hostage for four days by workers at his Beijing plant. Chip Starnes said that disgruntled workers blockaded the exit, demanding severance packages identical to those received by terminated workers in another department. Starnes added that the remaining workers weren?t being laid off, though his company is in the process of shifting its plastics division to Mumbai, India. The incident mirrors increasing concern over job security among workers amid China?s slowing economic climate.
