American Crystal union members head back to work
After a 20-month lockout, American Crystal Sugar workers will return to work in about six weeks after accepting the company's contract offer. The workers had rejected the same offer four times, which includes a 13% pay increase over the next four years. About half of the workers who were originally on strike have quit or retired. The company replaced the locked out workers, and the returning employees will continue to work with them. The company says that it expects the workers to respect one another, and that there will be a few months to integrate the workers.
