American Woos Unions, Seeking Cooperation
Having seen the trouble other airlines have faced from unions recently, American Airlines is taking a different stance. American's strategy is to woo unions and win them over on concessions by discussing all the information with them and looking to cooperate. The attitude of cooperation has spread throughout the company and its unions, though conciliation may not protect the labor groups from job cuts and the airline's bankruptcy.
