Amy’s Kitchen will conduct job cuts that will affect three hundred employees
Amy’s Kitchen, a California-based organic food company, announced that it will be laying off over three hundred workers. The job cuts are a part of the company’s reorganization plan and will affect in-person workers at the Petaluma and Santa Rosa facilities, as well as remote workers. In the two facilities, managers, assembly line workers, and clerical employees will be laid off. In total, the job cuts will reduce the company’s workforce by fifteen percent. Amy’s Kitchen stated that the changes in the company’s organizational structure will help the company stay a leader in the natural food industry. The ideal product mix is shifting from frozen side dishes and canned soups to entrees, as consumer demands change after the COVID-19 pandemic. Affected workers will receive severance packages, and will be offered the opportunity to transfer to other locations.
