Anger on streets as Bangladesh building toll passes 300
With more than 300 people now confirmed dead in a Bangladesh factory building collapse, workers protested on Friday. Officials say that more people could be trapped in the building, which they say was built illegally. Over 100 people have been found alive in the wreckage so far. The government has called for the arrest of the owners of the building and the factories. Many Western brands were producing in the factories. The collapse comes months after a fire in another garment factory killed over 100 workers and is leading to renewed calls for brands to take responsibility for the workers producing their clothing. Labor groups have called for a garment workers' strike on Sunday.
